Music For Life

Music For Life - Texas Coalition to Abolish the Death PenaltyThe Music For Life tour is a series of concerts in different cities across the state of Texas over a 12 month period, lead by Sara Hickman. At each stop along the way, Sara is joined by other speakers and performers.  The tour is on behalf of the Texas Coalition to Abolish the Death Penalty. TCADP is a state-wide, grass roots organization working to end the use of capital punishment in Texas. TCADP has chapters in Austin, Houston, Dallas-Ft Worth, Corpus Christi, and the Rio Grande Valley.

The program includes speakers who share their thoughts about capital punishment. Speakers have included a murder victim’s family member, a former Chaplain to death row inmates, members of the clergy, a former District Attorney, university professors, and death penalty activists.  Members of the audience are invited to engage in dialogue with the speakers. The objective is to provide a forum for individuals to think and talk about the death penalty in a way that is not confrontational; to begin a discussion across the state about this government program that crosses so many issues: morality, fairness, cost, and justice.
